Cornell Kids Theater Company is now booking auditions, for ages 10-18! Whether you’re interested in acting, designing, production, lighting, construction, costuming, or music and sound, we’ve got just the place for you!

Do’s and Don’ts for your audition

Do:

Read your lines with expression
Be comfortable sharing your talents and interests
Have faith in yourself, your abilities, and your imagination!
Trust us to show you the way. We’re here to help guide you!
Be on time (or the show will go on without you)
Be willing to play a role outside of your comfort zone. Be open to putting yourself in the shoes of a character whose gender, age, or background might be different than your own!

Don’t:

Overthink it or try too hard- remember to relax and have fun.
Judge others, or worry that others are judging you.
Be late (that’s right, we’re saying it again! Being punctual for your audition is important to everyone else on the schedule)
Worry about what you don’t know, or tell yourself you aren’t good enough!
Limit yourself

Remember, this is NOT a competition! All participants will go through the same audition process, to create a shared experience that bonds everyone. Not confident in your acting skills? Don’t worry- just do your best and have fun, your audition slot will allow you the opportunity to show us their strengths and talents, whatever they may be.
