INTO Yellow

Community Garden Mural Project

For the Community Garden series, community members are invited to contribute small drawings of flowers that are later integrated into giant public murals. Each individual flower is digitally documented, enlarged, and added to the communal floral murals, which pop-up in surprise locations.

CCAC is proud to have hosted Uncle Riley and the community to co-create the largest Community Garden to date!

This project is one of many ongoing social art projects that Uncle Riley grows in collaboration with communities using International Optimism Yellow (‘INTO yellow)— a color he created with Pantone Color Institute, and UMEWE.org to generate more Optimism in the world and to shine a light on mental health awareness.

O+ Mural on Pecora Building

The O+ Mural on The Arc Mid-Hudson’s Pecora Building, on Ten Broeck Ave between Cornell St. and O‘Neil St., next time you’re in the area!The mural, created by O+ mural artists Gaia and Lindsey Wolkowicz, adds a spectacular splash of color to the building in Midtown Kingston. Stop by and see it!

New Horizons

I.D.E.A. Gallery - Identity, Diversity & Equity in America

The I.D.E.A. art exhibition is a collaboration with New Horizons Resources (NHR), The Arc Mid-Hudson, and the Cornell Creative Arts Center. It was conceived to enable the diverse population of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities supported by NHR, and their staff to express their feelings about social injustice in our world and our community.

This show highlights artwork that expresses thoughts, feelings and experiences in regard to racism, social injustices and oppression faced by people supported and employed through both NHR and The Arc Mid-Hudson. We hope the work in this exhibit promotes a mutual understanding of how racism impacts our entire society and community, and provides opportunity for constructive dialogue and positive change. We aim to create an environment where people can feel safe and supported in their need to discuss these very important topics and their impact.

Hudson Valley LGBTQ+ Center

Colors of the Spectrum Creative Art Lab

Cornell Creative Arts Center has teamed up with The Hudson Valley LGBTQ+ Community Center and Arts Mid-Hudson to offer workshops for teens on the LGBTQ+ spectrum and allies, and offered a welcoming and safe environment to collaborate and create expressive works of art.

Agriculture in the Hudson Valley Gallery Show

Teaming up with Hudson Valley Seed Co., the Agriculture in the Hudson Valley gallery show highlights the beauty and importance of agriculture across the Hudson Valley! This exhibit spread awareness to the importance of local farms and put a spotlight on the role agriculture plays in our day to day lives.

NYenvironcom

Keeping our environment clean and healthy for humans and nature is critical and led to the formation of NYenvironcom, a nonprofit organization based in New York with a mission to help create, strengthen, and build thoughtful water and land-use policies and practices that encompass environmental, community, and economic values. NYenvironcom believes that it is important for all segments of communities to have a practical understanding of local ecology, and sufficient data to make informed water and land-use decisions.

NYenvironcom works primarily throughout the Orange, Sullivan and Ulster counties of New York, within communities located on the northern side of the southern tier of the Shawangunk Mountains, and Neversink Valley to the Delaware River. We work in both the Delaware and Hudson Watersheds, and with the regions aligning alongside the path of the 57-mile greenway trail from the City of Kingston in Ulster County southwest to the City of Port Jervis in Orange County. We believe empowering communities to become an active part of what is happening in their watersheds and neighborhoods leads to positive change. Our work impacts the well-being of our communities and citizens’ ability to advocate for the health of our local environment.

Arts Mid-Hudson

As the preeminent arts service organization working across Dutchess, Ulster and Orange Counties, Arts Mid–Hudson leads the way for our region’s arts and culture through advocacy, exhibitions, readings, folk arts programs, and festivals. Arts Mid–Hudson programs have been featured in local and national news as the arts leading in the Mid–Hudson region.

Kingston City School District

As the largest and sole small city school district in Ulster County, the Kingston City School District (KCSD) spans 98 square miles and serves approximately 6,500 students in Grades Pre-K through 12 who attend classes in 11 school buildings. The student body comprises both children of families who recently moved to the district for all it has to offer, and children of lifelong residents, many with multiple generations having attended KCSD.

KCSD embraces the rich diversity of the families we serve, as evidenced by our district mission, “We Inspire. We Educate. We Graduate. All students. All of the time.” At every grade level, instruction is tailored to students’ abilities. Innovation is an innate part of the organizational culture, where KCSD continuously seeks new and better ways for students to achieve success. Robust extra-curricular programs, sports, art, technology, community service, and culture extend the student experience and support their success in the classroom.

KCSD’s faculty and staff, consisting of a diverse group of over 1,100 individuals, enjoy a positive collegial environment characterized by strong camaraderie and mutual respect. KCSD has also cultivated and greatly appreciates the powerful relationships it has created with a wide array of community partners, working together closely to align programs based on student needs.

The Coop Concept

The Coop Concept is a vocational enrichment program for youth that creatively forms relationships and strengthens community involvement, while laying the groundwork for a vibrant future. We have been working as a project under Good Work Institute and are becoming our own 501c3, Fly The COOP, Inc in early 2025. We believe that the young people of Kingston should have safe, affordable housing in their community and we are paving the way to do that!

HUDSY

Their mission is to unite and empower the Hudson Valley through impactful storytelling by promoting diversity, providing opportunities, fostering understanding, and driving positive change. They create FILMS that tell impactful stories. They educate others to make FILMS that tell impactful stories. They connect the community to diverse and creative FIlms, and to each other. They have a FREE video streaming platform, HUDSY TV, celebrates over 600 diverse films and videos from over 100 creatives across the Hudson Valley. Their local events and networking opportunities bring our community together to connect through the power of film, storytelling, and creativity. My Kingston Kids

MyKingstonKids, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 Not-For-Profit organization that was created to assist parents in providing the children of Kingston, New York and beyond with the support needed to bring out the best in their kids as well as others. We believe this is done by providing our children with exciting activities, engaging & fun-loving events, interactive educational tools and appropriate entertainment.

MyKingstonKids, is not just a name, it’s a statement with a great deal of action that follows.

As parents ourselves, we understand how a day can go with children of all ages. This is why we’ve developed a Not-For-Profit organization that would accommodate the opportunity to access your favorite Kingston events, activities and content through multiple outlets. You are able to connect with MyKingstonKids through your desktop, tablet, mobile phone, local radio station, magazine, and even outdoor events within the community.Our goal is to ensure that all children have an equal opportunity to innovative programming, quality skills and safe places to express their talents and imagination.
